Fighting game tournament series Evolution Championship Series (Evo) has set an all-time record for first-day ticket sales following the commercial launch of Evo Brazil 2027.
Scheduled for 26–28 March 2027 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, the inaugural South American edition surpassed initial commercial benchmarks across all global Evo stops since the circuit’s inception. The exact numbers, however, were not disclosed. The Esports Radar contacted the event’s organisation and will update the story as details become available.
Announced by Evo Head of LATAM Rafael Queiroz, the record-breaking sales milestone highlights significant commercial demand within the Latin American Fighting Game Community (FGC). Queiroz noted that the opening-day performance validates months of operational planning across global and regional teams, positioning São Paulo as a key growth driver for parent company RTS.

Beyond the primary showcase, Evo plans to integrate local scene leaders into event operations and roll out a dedicated “LOCALS” support programme. Speaking to Brazilian trade publication The Gaming Era, Queiroz, who joined Evo in April 2026 after leaving the helm of Team Liquid Brazil, explained that supporting local tournament organisers and grassroots events through the LOCALS framework is essential for maintaining active community engagement and strengthening the regional FGC throughout the year.
The Brazilian event features a minimum guaranteed prize pool of R$1m (~$186,000) spread across eight main-stage titles, including Street Fighter 6, TEKKEN 8, Mortal Kombat 1, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear -Strive-, THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Alongside open-bracket competitions, the venue will host fan-operated Bring Your Own Community (BYOC) tournaments, an Artist Alley, and an official Evo Museum.
Evo Brazil forms part of a multi-territory international expansion by RTS that includes new stops across Mexico, Singapore, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and China, alongside established events in the US, Japan, and France. The South American debut is anchored by global commercial sponsors Visa and PlayStation Tournaments, establishing the financial and brand backing for the circuit’s regional footprint.
