Swedish esports organisation Godsent has reportedly entered bankruptcy after years of financial pressure.
According to Fragbite.se, the decision was taken by Malmö District Court early September 2025, with the formal bankruptcy process beginning two weeks ago.
Fragbite notes that Godsent’s difficulties became pronounced in the spring of 2024 when the organisation lost a major sponsor. The shortfall led to players going unpaid for two months before eventually departing. Despite signalling plans to rebuild by signing a new Counter-Strike (CS) roster at the start of 2025, the project never saw the sunlight.
The headline sponsor Godsent lost in spring 2024 was Coolbet, which had served as their main partner since April 2023. Its withdrawal after failing to qualify for the PGL Major Copenhagen created “a significant deficit” in Godsent’s budget according to HLTV. While Godsent attempted to find a replacement sponsor, no matching deal could be secured.
The organisation had also faced repeated debt collection cases. As detailed by Fragbite, Godsent was pursued several times in 2025 by the Swedish Enforcement Authority (Kronofogdemyndigheten) over unpaid obligations.
The company now reportedly bankrupt is Godsent AB, the business/corporate organisation behind the competitive/esports side; Godsent IF is another legal entity, more structured as a club/sports association, whose fate is uncertain. In addition to those, Fragbite highlights that another entity remain registered in Sweden, the company Godsent Owned By Fans, also with an uncertain future.
The last announcement on Godsent’s official website concerned a VALORANT roster in January 2025, which had already seen several players depart and now also faces an uncertain future. The organisation has not posted on its social media channels since June 2025, following its elimination from the Swedish Elitserien i Esport (SECSGO) league, where it competed with an interim roster.
Founded in 2016 by former Counter-Strike professional Markus “pronax” Wallsten, Godsent has already experienced a turbulent history. The brand was first shut down in 2018 following the transfer of its roster to Red Reserve, only to return a year later through a merger with The Final Tribe.
As of this publication, Godsent has not issued an official statement regarding the bankruptcy ruling.
