Esports media outlet Sheep Esports has announced a new partnership with Polymarket, one of the world’s largest prediction market platforms.

As per the official announcement, the partnership will focus exclusively on Sheep Esports’ League of Legends and VALORANT coverage. This doesn’t include the company’s Rocket League operations, which kicked off recently through the acquisition of Shift (ShiftRLE). The outlet confirmed that the Rocket League division will continue to operate separately.

As part of the deal, Sheep Esports will run sponsored content and ads for Polymarket across its platform. The outlet has specifically mentioned that all sponsored content and advertising connected to the partnership will be clearly disclosed and labelled on Sheep Esports.

According to Sheep Esports, the partnership will help support its growth while ensuring its content remains free for readers. Before agreeing to the deal, the company said it reviewed whether the partnership aligned with its editorial standards and long-term goals. Revenue generated through the partnership will be reinvested into Sheep Esports to support its editorial work and help develop new content formats.

Sheep Esports also stressed that Polymarket will have no influence over its journalism. The company said Polymarket will not have any involvement in its editorial decisions, reporting, investigations, rankings, or coverage.

Global Esports Industry Week (GEIW) will return in 2026 with a bigger and bolder edition, taking place across 18–21 June in Cologne, Germany, alongside IEM Cologne. The schedule and details about ticket sales are available in this link.

“Our newsroom operates independently, and commercial partnerships do not affect what we choose to cover or how we report it,” Sheep Esports said.

However, the partnership announcement was met with backlash from some members of the esports community, with much of the criticism focused on the relationship between Sheep Esports’ leak-driven reporting and Polymarket’s prediction markets. Apart from the Polymarket deal, Sheep Esports is also working with Winamax, a licensed poker and sports betting platform in Europe.

However, this also isn’t Polymarket’s first move into esports. Earlier this year, it partnered with BLAST as the tournament organiser’s official prediction partner for the 2026 season.
