Esports organisation Gen.G has announced a new partnership with Theta Labs to launch an AI-powered mascot named Genrang.bot. The chatbot is designed to improve fan engagement by offering interactive experiences in both English and Korean.

Built on Theta Labs’ AI infrastructure, Genrang.bot will be accessible through Gen.G’s official website and Discord server. The bilingual chatbot will allow fans to ask questions about Gen.G’s teams, players, and history, as well as receive curated updates and participate in giveaways and events. The mascot is also positioned as a resource for moderators, providing tools to create new events and experiences within the Gen.G ecosystem.

In addition to team-specific information, the AI is said to have knowledge of broader topics across League of Legends, esports, and gaming.

According to Gen.G, the initiative is part of a broader overhaul of its Discord community, aimed at deepening interaction with fans. Gen.G CEO Arnold Hur stated, “Our collaboration with Theta Labs will empower our community with the tools to go deeper within Gen.G and access information that is relevant to them anytime, anywhere.”

Mitch Liu, CEO and Co-Founder of Theta Labs, commented: “Gen.G has an amazing history with their global community, and we look forward to building a new level of fandom to help them connect even more with the Gen.G brand.”

This move follows a broader trend in the esports industry, where organisations are increasingly adopting AI-driven solutions to improve community engagement. Theta Labs recently signed a similar deal with North American organisation Cloud9, also aimed at deploying an AI chatbot to enhance fan interaction.

Gen.G plans to debut Genrang.bot in upcoming player livestreams, with exact dates yet to be announced.
