Brazilian organisation LOS has been named as a guest team in the CBLOL (Brazilian League of Legends Championship), South America’s premier League of Legends (LoL) competition, for the 2026 season. The return of a former partnered team to the tournament was facilitated by the organisation’s parent group, EZOR, and occurs as the league reverts to a standalone format following a brief period of continental integration.

“We consider the CBLOL a strategic asset for the development of League of Legends in Brazil. The return of LOS to the competition reflects EZOR’s vision to structure sports projects with solid governance, strategic planning, and long-term guidance,” stated Alexandre Kakavel Peres, CEO of EZOR.

The organisation has history in the league, having won the CBLOL championship in 2017 still under the Team One banner, which was incorporated into the LOS structure in 2022. LOS was already a partner of the league before 2024, when it was left out during the restructuring into the combined League of the Americas (LTA). The organisation kept its LoL team competing in Tier 2, aiming for an opportunity to get back to the premier tournament.

The LTA cross-regional format, intended to raise competitiveness across the Americas, was dissolved by Riot Games after a single year in response to fan feedback emphasising regional identity.

The opportunity for re-entry materialised after the Latin American organisation Isurus formally vacated its CBLOL guest slot in early December 2025. Isurus cited structural and operational challenges inherent to its guest team status as the core reason for its departure. A primary difficulty was the annual requirement to defend its position in a promotion/relegation tournament, which created business planning uncertainty and restricted long-term investments in the Brazilian market due to its operations not being based in the country.

The return of LOS is underpinned by its inclusion in the EZOR brand house, a gaming and esports vertical launched by Brazilian media group Spun Mídia in October 2025. The creation of EZOR, which involved the acquisition of MIBR and the consolidation of LOS under a single holding structure, was backed by a reported R$ 100 million investment pledge over five years.

This corporate restructuring and financial backing provided a more robust operational framework, which, given Riot Games’ historical selection criteria, was probably a key factor in granting the guest team slot after Isurus’s withdrawal.

However, according to streamer GustavoBaianoGomes in a statement, Riot Games initially invited KaBuM! IDL, an organisation Baiano is involved with, to fill the spot before approaching LOS. KaBuM! declined the invitation due to uncertainty about how to navigate the transfer window at this stage of the year and a belief that it would be better for the organisation to continue competing in Tier 2 for the time being.

Editor’s note: The segment regarding KaBuM! IDL was included shortly after the story was originally published.
