Global gaming hardware brand Razer has entered into a commercial partnership with Australian school esports operator The FUSE Cup, becoming the Official Controller Partner for the State and National Rocket League Finals in November 2026.
Under the terms of the agreement, student finalists competing at the FUSE Esports Festival at Southern Cross University’s Gold Coast campus will use Razer hardware, while the brand will also sponsor the newly created Student Leadership Award at the FUSE Australian School Esports Awards.
Announced by The FUSE Cup Chief Operating Officer Daniel Aivaliotis-Martinez, the partnership equips competing finalists with Razer gaming controllers during the national championship stage. Beyond hardware provision, Razer’s sponsorship of the Student Leadership Award aims to recognise school pupils who demonstrate positive community contributions and leadership within their local scholastic esports programmes.

The finals represent the culmination of The FUSE Cup’s annual competitive calendar, scheduled to take place from 12 to 14 November 2026. The multi-day event, described as Australia’s largest in-person school esports festival, is supported by municipal backing from the City of Gold Coast council and hosted at Southern Cross University‘s dedicated campus facility.
The addition of Razer expands The FUSE Cup’s commercial vendor ecosystem alongside hardware manufacturer Acer and its gaming brand Predator, which recently extended their multi-year commitment as official PC gaming partners through 2027.
“It’s always great to bring new brands into the FUSE community, particularly those who share our commitment to creating meaningful experiences and opportunities for young people,” said Aivaliotis-Martinez in his announcement post.
The partnership comes during a period of sustained infrastructure growth across Australian educational institutions, marked by venue launches such as the Red Bull Gaming Hub in Parramatta, Southern Cross University’s Esports Hub, and the University of Sydney Union‘s dedicated gaming facilities.
For Razer, the agreement reflects a dual-track sports strategy that pairs high-profile professional sponsorships, such as its multi-year deal as the Official Headset Partner of BLAST Premier, with targeted grassroots and scholastic investments.
By establishing an early footprint within primary and secondary school ecosystems, hardware brands are leveraging educational circuits to build long-term brand equity among emerging demographics. Another prominent example of this trend is Sony INZONE‘s partnership with PlayVS in the United States.
